Media informatics determines our everyday life. Whether as entertainment on computers, consoles and smartphones or as game-based learning in schools and more and more areas of business. The Media Informatics and Interactive Entertainment program at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences prepares students to professionally implement and control software projects - from conceptual design to planning to implementation and iteration of applications. The program combines theory with practice, with students developing their own interactive media project (a full-fledged game) by the end of the bachelor's program. The curriculum includes computer science basics, object-oriented programming, operating system hierarchies, web development, and interactive entertainment. Students can specialize through electives, focusing more on design or coding according to their interests. The program also includes practical software projects for regional companies and a 'beta project' where students create a video game for the market. The final semester includes an internship and bachelor thesis.
