* Completed university degree in veterinary medicine, medicine, dental medicine (state examination or Master's degree), biology, biochemistry, chemistry or in another field of the natural sciences (diploma, Master's degree)
* Non-German university degrees can be recognized as equivalent by the PhD Commission
* Successful completion of the first part of a Master's programme at one of the member establishments of the ZSN in Hannover can be recognized as qualification if the student has shown outstanding performance and has been recommended by the Master's programme commission
* Proof of English skills (university level) - complete written and spoken fluency in English is essential
* Fluency in German is an advantage, but not necessary
