The Mittelschule teacher education programme prepares students to become secondary school teachers for the Mittelschule in Bavaria. As a Mittelschule teacher, you will teach pupils from 5th to 10th year, accompanying them from late childhood until after puberty. The role involves education, advice, imparting knowledge, and providing vocational orientation. The curriculum follows the Lehramtsprüfungsordnung I (LPO I) and includes subject discipline modules, subject didactics, Mittelschule subject group didactics, educational science, practice teaching, and a dissertation. Upon graduation, students complete a two-year practical teaching phase (Vorbereitungsdienst) before sitting the Second State Examination.
