Metrology, the science of measurement, is a special focus at TU Braunschweig, where research is conducted together with partners, especially the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). The program focuses on how to measure large aircraft components and nanoparticles accurately, and how to extend measurement limits into quantum mechanics. Metrology is based on knowledge from physics, engineering, mathematics and life sciences. This elective subject is part of the Bachelor's programme in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, offering specialization in measurement technology. Students benefit from integration with research institutes and can focus on areas like biomedical technology and bioanalytics.
