The seminar 'urban stage' has been continuously examining urban contexts and sociopolitical structures through practical exercises and student project work since 2007. The course analyzes and redefines vacant spaces, architectural agglomerations, non-sites, and institutional frameworks. Artistic interventions and aspects of performance are methodically applied. Specific project ideas are developed on the seminar platform and implemented in concrete exhibition projects and collaborations, often in urban spaces. The seminar also realizes ongoing collaborations such as the 'archiv.komplex' project, which addresses artistic and political approaches to contemporary history and archives using the example of the collapse site of the Cologne City Archive.
