📋 Program Hakkında

This four-semester Master's program focuses on shaping society sustainably, particularly addressing social upheavals and demographic developments. It combines social, political, ecological, and economic topics from a social science perspective. The program offers specializations in social dimensions of sustainable development, challenges of demographic change, post-growth and sufficiency strategies, and methods of inter- and transdisciplinary research. Students develop competencies for critical reflection on social processes and learn to initiate change processes in public, civil society, economic, and scientific organizations. The curriculum includes scientific foundations, theoretical approaches, empirical methods, and the development of an individual research project. Students also take complementary courses from other departments such as Architecture, Design, Computer Science, or Economics.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's or Diploma degree in social sciences, or a degree in humanities or natural sciences with social science components of at least 45 ECTS, or an accredited Bachelor's degree from a vocational academy * Minimum Grade Required: At least "good" (2.5) overall grade * Non-academic requirements: Basic knowledge in sociology, psychology, social gerontology, and methods of empirical social research is helpful. Social and communication skills, self-management and methodological competence are advantageous.
