As in the Bachelor's degree course, the three-semester Master's degree course in Civil Engineering offers seven specializations: Construction Operations and Management, Structural Engineering, Transportation, Water, Numerical Methods of Structural Design, Traffic Engineering and Geotechnics as well as Materials. In the numerous specialized modules of the specializations, Master's students receive comprehensive training for application in theory and practice. However, the content for Master's students is more research-oriented than application-oriented. Thanks to the science-oriented and interdisciplinary approach, Master's students have the opportunity to look at topics that are part of the Bachelor's canon in a different way. This results in innovative and sophisticated solutions for practical applications that go beyond the usual standards. Students can decide for themselves which area they want to study in depth. There is a variety of topics to choose from, offering scope for an individual study profile. Graduates have excellent career prospects - whether with larger construction groups, in specialized construction offices or in the public sector, whether in the execution or commercial operation of construction projects - and are also qualified to conduct independent academic research: the Master's degree entitles graduates to do a doctorate.
