📋 Program Hakkında

The Artistic Photography program focuses on conceptual work and experimentation with the medium. Starting from photography as a medium that depicts reality, the program reflects on the difference between photographic representation and what is being represented, in order to explore the possibilities, conditions, and limitations of the medium. Students may also venture beyond photography and incorporate other media. Possible approaches include working at the boundary between still and moving images or combining handwritten and apparatus-based/photographic recording. The program encourages reflection on how photographic images have been used in art in past decades, as well as how photographs appear in various areas of society today and influence the viewer's perspective. The relationship between photography and painting can also be of interest. The program emphasizes not only media reflection but also engaging with historical, marginal, local, private, or political themes, carefully examining them and clarifying one's own interest in them, in order to then work on these themes using photography or another medium. In the winter semester, a series of individual exhibitions takes place in the photography project space 'Case'. The summer semester focuses on inputs, work discussions, collaborations, external exhibition projects, and guest invitations.
