The subject "Catholic Religion" can be studied as part of any teacher training course. The aim of the course is to develop a professional, technically and methodologically competent identity as a teacher of religion. It serves to acquire subject-specific and didactic skills that enable you to teach the subject "Catholic Religion". More than almost any other subject, theology offers the opportunity to reflect on one's own convictions and values and to find well-founded points of view. You do not have to be Catholic to study the subject "Catholic Religion", but this is a prerequisite for obtaining a license to teach at a school. The program is offered for different teaching tracks including: Teaching degree at elementary school (L1), Teaching degree at Hauptschule and Realschule (L2), Teaching degree at grammar schools (L3), Second subject in the vocational education degree programs (L4), and Teaching degree for special needs education with a focus on inclusion (L5). Each teaching track has its own examination regulations. The degree program consists of modules defined in examination regulations and described in detail in the module handbook. Sample study plans are available for each teaching track to show an ideal course of study.
