📋 Program Hakkında

The multidisciplinary, English language "Peace and Conflict Studies" program is offered in cooperation with the University of Kent. Students spend one academic year each in Canterbury and Marburg and, following successful completion, receive an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies (Joint Degree) from the Philipp University of Marburg and the University of Kent. The program's subject matter focuses on conflicts and peace processes in the face of international change. In the program, students acquire in-depth, specialized knowledge of peace and conflict research and the capability to research and analyze conflicts in national and international contexts, to develop conflict management options, and to personally collaborate on the management of conflicts. The required modules comprise the topics of Conflict Theories, Conflict Management, Conflict Analysis and Inter-Group Conflicts, as well as an internship of at least ten weeks.

* Minimum degree required: A first or upper-second class honours degree in a relevant subject (Politics, Government, International Relations, International Studies, European Studies, or other social science/humanities disciplines) * For German university graduates: "Diplom", "Erstes Staatsexamen", "Magister Artium", "Fachhochschuldiplom", Bachelor's degree, or Bakkalaureaus at level "gut" or "sehr gut" * Minimum score: A total of at least 75 aptitude points in the eligibility assessment process * English language proficiency: IELTS score of 6.5 overall and 6.0 in reading and writing, or 'C' in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, or 'A' in Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English * Additional points awarded for: further foreign language skills (up to 6 points), voluntary work lasting more than three months (up to 10 points)
