This program focuses on Mathematics for teaching at primary schools (Lehramt an Grundschulen). Students acquire fundamental mathematical and mathematics-didactic knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors relevant to primary school mathematics. The study consists of solid training in mathematics that encourages independent work from the beginning, providing opportunities for problem-solving and creative activities. In the first semesters, this is achieved primarily through solving practice problems, written elaboration, and presentations and discussions in exercises. As studies progress, increasingly independent work with literature is added. The scientific study is complemented by practice-oriented training in mathematics didactics, which teaches the fundamentals of teaching and learning in mathematics lessons and shows how mathematics lessons can be developed, designed, analyzed, and further developed. Practical teaching experiences in school seminars and internships play an important role.
