Digital Engineering - Mechanical Engineering is a program that combines mechanical engineering knowledge with computer science and artificial intelligence. Students learn how mechanical systems interact with software, sensor technology and data models - from the development of digital twins to the smart control of production processes. The program offers a sound engineering education with mechanics, materials engineering, thermodynamics and production engineering, practical computer science content including programming, software engineering, machine learning, algorithms & data structures, and mathematical foundations including higher mathematics, discrete mathematics and numerical methods. Students work at the interfaces between simulation, control engineering, data evaluation and the digitalization of industrial processes. The program includes internships, labs and projects to provide practical orientation from the start.
