📋 Program Hakkında

The Social Studies program for teaching at gymnasiums covers the areas of politics, sociology, economics, and law. The study is designed as a cooperation between the Institute for Political and Administrative Sciences, the Institute for Economics, and the Faculty of Law. The program focuses on politics and sociology, complemented by economics and law courses. In addition to the academic study, didactic studies are mandatory, where students learn about designing and constructing social studies lessons. The seminars in politics, sociology, or economics are based on presentations by students followed by critical discussions. Lectures are more oriented towards conveying factual knowledge and often conclude with an exam. Graduates can work as teachers in public schools in the subjects of social studies, political education, or politics/society/law, or in non-school education with a focus on political education.
